AHCSS00030 Farm Business Management Skill Set

This Skill Set contains the following four units of competency –

AHCBUS506 – Develop and review a business plan
AHCBUS507 – Monitor and review business performance
AHCBUS509 – Develop and implement business structures and relationships
BSBRSK501 – Manage Risk
 
We’ve developed a course that delivers these units holistically, and is focussed on the student consulting with business owners to take on a project within the workplace. We aim to deliver the soft skills and support to enable them to take control of a project within your business, and work on this over the duration of the course. The work they put into improving a part of your business is used as credit towards the outcome of the course.
 
Projects may include but are not limited to – continuous improvement, WH&S, energy usage/sustainability, workforce development. Basically any area of the business where things can be improved upon or savings achieved is the focus of the program. 
 
The course is subsidised by the Qld State Government for eligible students. This course is suitable to a number of positions within business including leading hands, supervisors, packing shed staff, maintenance staff and anyone looking to progress their careers within the agricultural/horticultural industries.

TLILIC2001 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck

This course is designed to qualify students in TLILIC2001 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck.

The course requires a person operating a forklift truck to plan the work, conduct routine checks on a forklift truck, shift loads in a safe manner, and safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.

A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck high risk work (HRW) licence.

Trade Contractors Business Management Course

Want to apply for your QBCC Trade Contractors Licence?

This course is an approved managerial qualification that is required for a trade contractor or nominee supervisor licence.  On successful completion of this course you will be awarded the Unit of Competency BSBSMB401 Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business.

AHC10116 - Certificate I in Conservation and Land Management

This course has been developed to provide basic skills and knowledge to a student to prepare for work in the Conversation and Land Management/Horticulture industry.

The course consists of 6 units, 2 core units and 4 electives.
The core units are:
* AHCWHS101 - Work safely
* AHCWRK101 - Maintain the workplace

RII30815 - Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations

The Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations reflects the role of a skilled operator working with civil construction plant.

This course is popular for companies that require their staff to have what is known in the industry as "plant tickets".

AHC30916 - Certificate III in Landscape Construction

Working in the landscape industry involves outdoor work that can be physically demanding undertaking the construction and maintenance of public and private garden spaces and features. 

There are landscaping businesses all over Australia. Many are small enterprises employing one to ten workers while others can be very large with forty or more workers. 

The work they do varies considerably. Some landscapers specialise in domestic gardens, others in commercial and industrial landscapes. This course includes units in hardscaping (paving and landscape construction) while others focus on softscaping (plant establishment and maintenance).
 
This course aims to empower and equip learners with practical and relevant skills which increase knowledge, confidence and productivity to escalate business profitability.

AHC31016 - Certificate III in Parks and Gardens

This course is designed for a worker in grounds maintenance or the softer side of garden landscaping.

You will learn how to maintain existing landscapes and obtain the knowledge of controlling pests and diseases, how things grow and why things don't grow.
 
The Parks and Gardens sector covers workers in local government parks and gardens, botanic gardens, schools and other public places as well as self-employed gardeners. Workers tasks may include: planting and maintaining trees and shrubs, lawns and garden features  and installing and maintain irrigation systems.

AHC30616 - Certificate III in Production Horticulture

This course is designed to meet the needs of individuals working in production horticulture.  It will suit farm hands or people working in the nursery, fruit, nut and vegetable industries or want to work in these industries.  

As part of this course, we are able to offer the TLILIC2001 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck as an elective unit.

AHC31116 - Certificate III in Production Nursery

This course will suit a nursery person working in (or wanting to work in) a production nursery.

It is designed to further your knowledge in pest and disease control and plant identification and making plants grow effectively.
 
Production or wholesale nurseries propagate and supply plants to supermarkets, retail nurseries, garden centres and landscapers. They are often large and are generally located on the outskirts of major cities. Some also maintain retail outlets. Production nurseries can also be found in some municipal councils, government departments, landscape companies and ‘greening’ or revegetation organisations. These nurseries grow plants for local landscape and revegetation projects.

AHC32816 - Certificate III in Rural Operations

Agriculture and Agribusiness are diverse sectors including both plant and animal based production systems along with supporting Agribusiness enterprises that supply agriculture goods and services. Job roles within the sector range from farmhands, farm business managers and include numerous agricultural service roles. We have a range of electives available so that you can tailor your course to your workplace/industry.

The elective TLILIC2001 Licence to operate a forklift truck is offered as part of this course.
