CPCCBC4006 Select, procure, and store construction materials for building and construction projects
This unit details the skills and knowledge required to oversee the processes for selecting, acquiring, and storing construction materials on-site for residential and commercial building projects. It includes understanding construction materials and technologies, assessing the environmental impact on materials, and identifying non-compliant materials to ensure compliance with National Construction Code (NCC) requirements and contract specifications.
It applies to NCC classifications:
- Residential: Class 1 and 10 buildings, up to two storeys
- Commercial: Class 2 to 9, Type C constructions
This unit is intended for builders, managers, and professionals responsible for ensuring quality standards when sourcing and supervising the on-site storage of compliant construction materials.
It is suitable for individuals using specialised knowledge to handle both routine and non-routine tasks and exercising judgment to solve predictable and occasionally unpredictable challenges.
Anyone performing construction work must complete the general construction induction training as outlined in the model Code of Practice for Construction Work. Completing CPCCWHS1001 “Prepare to work safely in the construction industry” fulfills this requirement.
