CPCCBC4008 Supervise site communication and administration processes for building and construction projects
This unit outlines the skills and knowledge needed to oversee site communications, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and manage project administration processes on a construction site.
It is strongly recommended that the site used for assessment, as outlined in the performance evidence, be an active construction site (refer to the Companion Volume for guidance).
This unit covers the skills required to manage quality control compliance, utilise communication and record-keeping systems on-site, and conduct inspections to carry out necessary project administration tasks.
It applies to National Construction Code (NCC) classifications:
- Residential: Class 1 buildings, up to two storeys
- Commercial: NCC Class 2 to 9, Type C constructions
The unit is designed for builders, site managers, forepersons, and other construction professionals who use specialised knowledge and skills to perform both routine and non-routine tasks. They must use their judgment to address both predictable and sometimes unforeseen challenges.
Anyone involved in construction work must complete the general construction induction training program as required by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work. Completing CPCCWHS1001 “Prepare to work safely in the construction industry” satisfies this requirement.
