Improving quad bike safety: have your say

Quad bikes have been responsible for 114 deaths in Australia from 2011 to October 2017. Seventeen of these deaths were children under the age of 16.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is investigating quad bike safety, and considering the merits of implementing a safety standard for quad bikes.

As part of this process, the ACCC has released the Quad Bike Safety Issues Paper for consultation. The ACCC is seeking feedback from stakeholders including manufacturers, dealers, workplace safety experts, researchers, farmers and quad bike users on a range of issues and options.

The public consultation period is now open. Submissions will be accepted until 5pm on Friday, 15 December 2017.
