Access subsidised higher-level qualifications through direct enrolment — advance your career with Certificate IV and Diploma courses.
About This Pathway
The Career Boost Program – General Training Pathway supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school Certificate IV or Diploma level qualification and increase their skills to take their career to the next level.
Funding under the General Training Pathway is provided by the Queensland Department of Trade, Employment and Training.
Co-Contribution Fees
The Qld State Government requires Co-Contribution Fees to be paid for each qualification. This fee can be paid by the student themselves or on behalf of the student by a third party. The co-contribution fee (30% of it) is invoiced upon enrolment and needs to be paid prior to commencement of training. Upon commencement the final invoice is then issued. These are the ONLY fees the student must pay.
These fees are calculated per unit of competency. The cost of the qualification changes depending on the amount of units in that qualification. The fact sheet below lists the non-concessional fees and concessional fees payable for each qualification available under this pathway.
The amount of the fees per unit depends on whether the student is non-concessional or concessional.
- If non-concessional it is $10 per unit.
- If concessional it is $5 per unit.
Concessional status applies when the student falls into one of the following categories:
- Holds a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds such a card and is named on the card;
- Holds an official form issued under Commonwealth law confirming that they, their partner, or the person of whom they are a dependant is entitled to concessions under a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card;
- Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- Has a disability;
- Is from a non-English speaking background;
- Is an adult prisoner.
Fees are not payable for any unit that is awarded a Credit Transfer or Transitional-Gap Training.
As part of the enrolment process we gather information to check a student's concessional status.
